2024 European Portuguese Immersion Weekend

Luz Cultura’s European Portuguese Immersion Weekend is a 3-day language & culture course. This unique weekend experience offers the opportunity to enhance your language skills and also delve into the practical aspects of living in Portugal in a fun and engaging way.  

Escape the distractions of daily life and immerse yourself in a Portuguese bubble where you will focus solely on the language and the vibrant culture of Portugal. From classroom sessions to cultural excursions, you will leave this weekend feeling inspired and empowered to embrace everything Portugal has to offer.

The course is led by certified instructor, Ana Cristina Lourenço. Ana earned her post-graduate degree in “Ensino de Português Língua Não Materna” from Nova University of Lisbon. Ana, a native of Alvor, teaches at IEFP (Centro de Emprego de Portimão), CLCC (Centro de Línguas, Cultura e Comunicação- Portimão), and Luz Cultura. She brings her extensive expertise to this intensive language and cultural weekend.

This course is suitable for learners with a basic knowledge of Portuguese from level A2 and higher. Course content includes topics from daily life such as eating in restaurants and cafes, food and goods shopping, making appointments, and local traditions and customs, and more. Sample activities include interactive role-playing, a scavenger hunt, a shared picnic, market excursion, and a final play to showcase all you have learned.
